Book Reviews

They say that to be a writer, you must first be a reader.  We all buy-into this idea in one way or another, and the practice is enforced by those who interview authors: Who are your favorite authors? Who are you reading right now? What writers have influenced you most?

We should all be overjoyed that our favorite authors did not spend all their time reading. Still it interesting to know what writers are reading and where they are influenced by others. More important, I think, is what they thought about while reading and afterward.

I am answering those calls, less as a reviewing of works that are already well known, than  as revelation of how the books struck my writer’s mind during and after the reading.
