Datelines: Manitowoc and Two Rivers, Wisconsin

The drive from Duluth on Lake Superior to Manitowoc on Lake Michigan is a long one with a southbound leg and then an eastward leg. Neither leg is straight. One passes Eau Claire and Green Bay within 6 hours. Point Beach State Forest north of Two Rivers, Wisconsin was, though a sight worth the drive.m-3Both in the evening at full moon and in the morning just before sunrise.

The idea of yet another great lake, a shallower, certainly noisier lake set in sandy soil rather than in a rocky bed leads one to think of brother and sister, so strangely alike yet fundamentally different and oh so romantic:

At any time day.

I look for the right lake shot for the cover of the forth-coming short story collection (working title: Lake Stories and Other Tales). Here are a few. What do you think?

I love beach bridge. Love the light. A bridge brings us from one place to another, from here
to there, one world to the next.

  2. Michele says:

A beach bridge. One can imagine one’sself walking down to the water.

I like Beach Bridge. . . because the bridge indicates people in nature.
